Financial Manager - Permanent, Full Time

The Role

Join King's High School as our Financial Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of our school. You'll be the driving force behind our financial operations, including budget management and financial reporting, ensuring we maintain robust financial health and compliance. This isn't just about numbers; it's about providing strong financial leadership that supports our mission to build men for life. Your expertise will safeguard our financial integrity, optimise resource allocation, and enable sound decisions that directly contribute to the school's long-term success. You'll work closely with the Rector, Board of Trustees, and various stakeholders, providing expert analysis and feedback, and ensuring our financial practices remain compliant with relevant legislations. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact, ensuring the school's financial success and enabling us to continue providing an exceptional educational environment.

About You

You are a highly skilled finance professional with a proven track record of success in a senior accounting role, and you are motivated to contribute to the success of a mission-driven educational environment. Your expertise extends beyond routine financial management; you possess advanced technical accounting skills and a deep understanding of financial regulations. You are a strategic thinker with a growth mindset, capable of translating complex financial data into actionable insights and driving financial success. You have an eye for detail, your natural leadership skills enable you to motivate and guide a cohesive team, your well-honed interpersonal skills support you to build strong relationships with a diverse range of people, resulting in cross-functional success and operational excellence.

Experience

  • Relevant Accounting Degree
  • CA Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand or equivalent (preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience in a senior accounting role.
  • Advanced technical accounting and finance skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • Advanced MS Excel user.
  • Knowledge of New Zealand school financial regulations and MoE guidelines (preferred).

Spanish Teacher - Fixed Term - March 2025 - December 2025

We seek a committed and engaging teacher of to join our motivated and effective staff.  The successful applicant should be suitably qualified and familiar with ICT best use in curriculum delivery.   An eagerness to enable young men to achieve King’s Personal Excellence and to maintain our high standards and expectations, along with a strong work ethic and good understanding of educational and language-related initiatives, are all essential.  A commitment to the school’s co-curricular programme is expected too.  Please state supporting subjects.  This position commences on Monday 25th March 2025.
